What is Your Meditation Style? Yes, You Can Meditate!

How can I be more psychic?
Meditate.
How can I hear my angels and guides better?
Meditate.
How can do I know I’m making the right choice?
Meditate.
How can I heal my past and boost my self esteem?
Meditate.
How do I (fill in the blank)?
Meditate.

Throughout my experience as a teacher and healer, one of the answers to many of life’s questions and goals can be found in meditation. And invariably, one of the answers I receive back is that people don’t know how to, or can’t meditate.

Meditation is one of the major keys to probably everything we would like to create in out life. People want the quick, the easy. But meditation can be both of those things once you throw out the “shoulds” in your expectations of it and find out what works for you. I think a large part of the reason people don’t meditate is the misconception of what it is. Many people have the misconception that you must set aside long periods of time in order for it to be beneficial.

Many have visions of a person sitting in a sparse monk like room, in the lotus position with empty minds. For most of us in this modern world, this is a rarely attainable situation and certainly hard to incorporate into a daily regime. Effective meditation is, and will be different for each person.

It is has been said, “Prayer is talking to God, meditation is listening to God”, and I would agree with that. Keeping that in mind, whichever way creates a space within your day, within your being that allows you to achieve that state of focus, is meditation and is effective. Be it for 5 minutes or 60. Do what you can! If you can’t do it everyday, it’s okay.So many people feel guilt if they don’t mediate, the “all or nothing” approuch and create unrealistic expectations for it to be a part of their life.

Also remembering everyone is wired differently and so whatever works for you, is what works for you! Don’t compare yourself to others in regards to meditation. For example, some people need quiet to meditate; some people need the room to be dark. Others like the sun, others need music. What brings you to a higher space? To YOUR particular sacred place inside your head?

For example, it is easier for me to meditate with music, but when I first began meditating, I learned to do so with guided tapes. I began mediating in my late teens when I discovered Richard Sutphen’s tapes.

His guided journeys basically taught me, a beginner, how the process took place, how it felt. Richard (Dick) Sutphen is one of the pioneers of the New Age in my personal opinion. One of it’s movers and shakers and I am proud to have learned from him. I always tell my students and clients that his tapes were instrumental in starting me on the path I am walking today. Some people have trouble visualizing, others have trouble with the intruding thoughts. If your not visual, that is okay, allow a sense of what the guided journey is taking you, If your mind won’t stop thinking about the tasks and conversations that are in your day, hearing someone else’s voice in a guided meditation may help you.

The voice inside your head that keeps thinking about the phone calls you need to make, etc, we all have it. Some of my students find it helpful if you acknowledge it, let it know you received the message and will remember it later, it can quiet it. Or keep a piece of paper nearby and write down the message the voice wants you to hear so you can go back to meditating.

Keep in mind that walking and other activities that are rhythmic and healthful can create a meditative place within you. Swimming, dancing, walking. I have had some of my best “listening to Spirit” meditative moments walking in nature. I live by a park with trails that allow me my strong connection to the Earth and Nature Kingdom to renew me in body, mind and spirit.

Yoga is also meditative for people. Part of it’s life changing effects for those who do it often is this meditative state it creates. So you see, it simply is a matter of finding what works for you. Throw away the false assumptions, comparisons and expectations. Don’t be hard on yourself, enjoy it.

Archangel Haniel: Caring For Yourself in these Challenging Times

Who is Archangel Haniel?

Haniel’s name means ‘Glory of God’.
Haniel governs the ancient magics of healing and feminine power, and the energy of the Moon.

Not many are familiar with this incredible being. Although archangels are androgynous they do have an energy more often projected as male or female so that people on Earth can more easily identify with them. Haniel more often appears as a female.

She has a very different energy, as you can see from this month’s White Rose Path channeling. To me she felt very wise, very knowing, very “Earth mother”, but with humor, a twinkle in her eye. If she was human, I could see her as a rock star or on a motorcycle. What a joy it was to connect with her very refreshing, Earthy energy and bring it to you.

Here is my channeling of Archangel Haniel’s message to you:

“Are you so very tired lately, cranky, impatient, aching, not knowing names, dropping things, not the epitome of Grace?

I am here to tell you that you are processing through your sacred feminine side, the ascension of your planet. But also too, the chaotic energy that is occurring now around you  as well. I know you feel it. You may not have been able to pinpoint it, why it is, what exactly has been a little off. That is why.

Now is the time to go more into that feminine wisdom that ALL of your carry within, be you male or female. Now is the time for you to nurture and care for yourself as if you were very pregnant. Because you are.

You are holding the space within you for the Light to be more present here on Earth. It can be physically uncomfortable, and emotional as well. You will handle it better by being in quiet , restorative places and doing more restorative things for your body and mind, and of course your spirit. You live in a busy time, the fastest, busiest time ever seen on your planet, so you are used to trying to keep up with a pace  that your body and mind were never meant to keep up with. Your spirit however, is more than up for this task.

But your body needs assistance in all of this. Water, water is so very important right now. As is sleep. Deep, restorative sleep at the time your ancient DNA wants, and that is from a few hours into the evening until early morning. Not the current sleep schedule dictated by electrical lights. So try to get more of that. Even one hour earlier to bed and rising will assist you.

And the water, take care of your life blood on Earth that is your waters. Mother Ocean and her bloodlines that are your rivers. She needs you, needs your help.

And then you can help each other as you wash away the harsh energies occurring now, with the waters that feel your help to keep her clean and alive. A thank you in return.

And time away. Honor this feeling you have of wanting to be away from the hectic pace, not being as sociable, not being on the phone, even if people do not understand it. You have a responsibility to yourself to honor what you need to be healthy and feel balanced in this way.

Many of you are so used to ignoring this need that you don’t even know you need it. And so your soul and your mind and your body is trying to get you to recognize this need through discomfort, the unclear thinking and emotions that seem high and then low and all over the place.

Look to your beautiful, gentle moon in the sky, so beautiful but yet many of you hardly remember to see such beauty offered to you. Do you know you are one of the few planets to have such a beauty in your night sky? Stop and be in a moment, look up and notice GOD in your life, in your world, and call upon me while your looking and I Haniel, will help you”
